Official Jets Correspondent-Rich Homie John

Well that was a nice way to start the season for Jets fans and Jets bettors, just completely demolishing the Detroit Lions in week 1. In the process, the Jets match their road win total from last year at 1 game. This week the Jets come home to MetLife Stadium to face the Dolphins at 1:00pm. First place is on the line as the winner of this game will hold the outright lead in the division as I am predicting the Patriots will lose to Jacksonville in the 4:25pm game. Stakes are always high early in the season for the Jets because expectations are usually so low. Getting off to a hot 2-0 start to the season is of paramount importance.

The Jets find themselves -2.5 / -3.0 point favorites, a rarity in recent years for this team to be laying points in any venue. Regardless of the novelty of the Jets as a favorite, you’d have to be clinically insane to do anything other than lay the points. The pick is obviously Jets minus the points. Todd Bowles is 10-3 in home 1:00pm games during his tenure. MetLife stadium will be rocking. Rumors are swirling that Fireman Ed is back and will be leading the J-E-T-S chant once again. The crowd will be deafening. Jets fans have not been this excited for a team since the 2010 season. Starved for success, MetLife will be absolutely rocking and at risk of collapse from noise vibrating the foundation of the stadium. Ryan Tannehill will probably begin weeping after his fourth INT. Hammer the Jets minus the points, then sit back and enjoy the Darnold experience. As for myself, I will be drinking a thousand beers in the MetLife parking lot and high fiving strangers after every Darnold TD, of which there will be many.

The Pick: Jets -2.5 or -3.0

Season record: 1-0
