Week 7 NFL Picks

Man can you believe it is already Week 7 in the NFL, where did the season go. Most teams are meddling around .500, and in each division other than the NFC West no team has more than a game lead. Right around this time is when teams start to separate themselves from the pack as either legitimate playoff contenders or teams who will be vacationing in January. We have our first 9:30 am London game which is always nice because if it looks like your bet is going to lose you can really double down on the 1 pm games. Alright lets get on with the picks:

Tenn vs LAC (-6.5)

After giving up 35 sacks to the Ravens last week the Titans are traveling across the globe to go up against a hot Chargers team winners of 3 straight. When I was handicapping this game I had the O/U set at 41.5, mainly because the Titans have an abysmal offense. The Chargers are able to put up points in bunches averaging 29.2 a game. But like I said the Titans haven’t shown an ability to score consistently averaging a 3rd worst in the NFL 14.5 points per game. Both teams have above average scoring Defenses, with the Titans giving up just 17.8 a game and the Chargers giving up 24 a game. Melvin Gordon is out for the Chargers, so I just can’t see many points in this one. Pick: Under 45.5 Prediction: Chargers 24 Titans 14

Buffalo @ Ind (-7.5)

This game marks the start of the Derek Anderson era for the Bills. The Colts coming off 4 straight loses and are still 7.5 point favorites which is something you don’t see too often. This is another game I love the under in. Both teams stink and I think it could be the first game since 1943 which ends in a 0-0 tie. Pick: Under 43 Prediction: Colts 0 Bills 0

New Orleans @ Baltimore (-3)

Baltimore coming off a thumping of Tennessee and New Orleans coming in winners of 4 straight. I think the Saints are the better team, and while the Ravens may have the leagues best defense they haven’t played an offense like the Saints yet. The Saints defense also seems to have recovered after giving up 48 to the Bucs week 1. Pick: Saints +3 Prediction Saints 24 Ravens 20

Texans @ Jags (-3.5)

Jacksonville hasn’t just been losing games recently, they have been getting demolished. Back home in a big game to right their season, I think they come out and show the AFC South that the division still goes through Jacksonville. Also they picked up Carlos Hyde who will be able to relieve Yeldon in spots which will keep TJ fresh later into the game. Pick: Jags -3.5 Prediction: Jags 24 Texans 10

Dallas @ Wash (PK)

Both teams coming off big wins the previous week. Dallas has had a sneaky good defense this year, with Byron Jones playing well on the outside and Jaylon Smith showing he was worth the wait after his gruesome knee injury. Sean Lee is also returning this game after injuring his hamstring for the 300th time in his career. With the Redskins being banged up at RB I think Dallas’s defense will be able to stifle Alex Smith. Pick: Dallas PK Prediction: Dallas 20 Wash 17
