TNF Week 10 Pick

Alright so it doesn’t look like I will be doing a breakdown this week, I’m traveling for business and haven’t had the time to sit down and cut clips. It’s probably for the best considering how shitty the Jets looked, I’ll do a quick breakdown before I give my picks though to keep the people happy.

Abridged Jets Breakdown:

The Jets line played terribly and as long as they continue to struggle the team will continue to struggle also. The offense failed to score a touchdown and their inability to move the ball is becoming a growing problem. Against the Broncos and Colts I had confidence that Bates may be a competent signal caller but his continued lack of creativity is an increasing concern of mine. The offense had 4 turnovers and the Jets only lost by 7 points and that speaks volumes to how the defense played. The defense has looked great at times this year but it is becoming evident that if they don’t give the offense short fields to work with than the offense has no chance to score. Yet again the Jets got beaten bad in field position on Sunday and I said it before the game if the Jets were to win they would have to force the Brocketship into turnovers. To add onto all the bad things happening right now with the Jets, Darnold is going to miss next week with a foot sprain. The real tragedy with this is that he will miss a chance to get back in the win column against the Bills. It’s looking more and more likely that this will be the end of both Bowles and Mac, as they have not shown anything that would give the front office confidence in their ability to lead this franchise. I saw a stat on twitter early today that since 2016 the Jets have the 30th worst record in the NFL only behind the Browns and 49ers. I still have faith that Darnold can develop into the QB he was hyped to be but the Jets need to get the right coaching staff around him to help him. Get a young offensive minded coach who is creative with his play calling and get someone in the GM spot who knows how to draft. I will be submitting my formal application for both positions when the firings take place.

CAR @ PITT (-3.5)

This should be one of the better match ups of the week as two of the hotter teams in the NFL meet in Pittsburgh. The Steelers opened as 7 point favorites and as of this writing are down to 3.5, which is a lot of line movement for a Thursday night match up. One reason for this may be the news coming out that Antonio Brown was cited for speeding this morning/last night(going 100 in a 40, not good!). I doubt he will miss any of the game but it is something to note. Both Big Ben and JuJu left the previous games with injuries but both are expected to be back to full strength. I like the scoring possibilities of these teams as both have shown the ability to put up points in bunches. The over is at 53 but since I think this game is too evenly matched to put any money on the spread I’m going with the total. Pick: Over 53 Prediction: Car 31 Steelers 28
