Week 11 in the NFL, we went an abysmal 2-4 last week but we are back this week and will be back to our winning ways. Jets are on a bye this week which is good because it means I get to watch competent football during the 1pm games instead of the garbage that has been the Jets. Alright lets get some picks in. Also I’m not going to edit this blog so if there are any typos or mistakes just deal with it.
Cinn @ Baltimore (-6.5)
This is a line that I’m a little confused by, I know Cincinnati has been playing poorly of late but so have the Ravens. Joe Flacco barely practiced all week and to be touch down favorites seems crazy. All year Vegas has loved the Ravens it seems, considering they were favored against the Steelers and Saints earlier in the year. I think they stink and I don’t think their is any chance they cover that spread. Pick: Cinn +6.5 Prediction: Cinn 24 BAL 17
Carolina @ Detroit (+5.5)
The Lions got blown out by the Jets early on and I’m pretty sure all the Patricia has already lost the locker room in year one. The fact that he made them practice outside when they were playing in a dome the upcoming week was a bananas move. Then he came out and tried to justify the move by saying it was better on his players joints? I just feel like that can’t be true. I don’t know the Lions stink and the Panthers will be looking to put a beat down on someone after getting embarrassed by the Steelers. Pick: Panthers -6 Prediction: Car 34 Det 10
Tampa Bay @ NYG (-3)
This is one I wish I got to earlier in the week as it opened up as a pick em. But if you’ve read my picks before you know that I love betting against Fitzmagic. Now I hate putting any money on the Giants, but Tampa is on pace to have the worst turnover differential in NFL history. Fitzmagic stinks and he crushed the Jets only chance of making the playoffs in the last 8 years and for that I will bet against him. Pick: Giants -3 Prediction: NYG 28 TB 21
Tenn @ IND (-1)
Since the Colts lost to the Jets they have been able to rattle off 3 straight wins and Andrew Luck looks to have recovered from his shoulder injury. The Titans also come in Winners of 2 straight including putting a beating on the Pats last week. To start the season the AFC South looked like a dumpster fire of a division but all teams but the Jags have really turned their seasons around. I like the Under in this one, the Titans have a good defense and I think their offensive explosion last was more of an anomaly than something to expect them to do consistently. Pick: Under 50 Prediction: Ind 24 Tenn 23
Eagles @ Saints (-10)
I wonder if this is the first time in NFL history that a reigning Super Bowl champion has come into a game as a double digit under dog. I would assume it is, which is why I’m staying away from the line. I like the total more, right now it’s at 57.5 which seems high even considering how well the Saints offense has been playing. I’m gonna go with my gut and take the Under, but I could have egg considering the Saints may put up 50 by themselves. Pick: Under 57.5 Prediction: Saints 28 Eagles 20
Vikings @ Bears (-2.5)
What a game to end the day on, a nice divisional match up for first place in the NFC North. Matt Nagey has done exactly what has been expected of him after he was hired. Every knew the defense was going to be good but Matt has Mitch Trubisky putting up great numbers considering how lost Mitch looked last year. I just went to ESPN to try and look back through at the Bears schedule but got completely side tracked by the top story. There is a report that the Browns want to interview Condeleeza Rice for their head coaching position. I let out an audible “what the fuck” when I read that. Could you imagine if the Browns hired a former Secretary of State as their new head coach? I don’t even know if I can make my pick for this game any more I am flabbergasted. Pick: Bears -2.5 Prediction: Bears 24 Vikings 20
I am still in shock at that head line, I don’t want to do any more research or read the article I just love the absurdity of the head line.
