Man I can’t believe we are already in Week 14 of the NFL season, what a depressing realization. Some fan bases are gearing up for a playoff push and January football and some fans (me) are looking at college prospects and wondering how their team will blow yet another offseason. We have some good matchups in store for this week between probable playoff teams and then we have some real stinkers between teams who will be picking top 5 in the draft. Alright that’s enough from me let’s get to some picks.
New Orleans @ Tampa Bay (+10)
New Orleans will be out for revenge after Tampa Bay beat them in a shoot out week 1. However I don’t like betting against a 10 point home dog and I think the total is the smarter play here. Last time these two teams met they put up a combine 200 points, and Tampa Bay has been playing well of late. You know New Orleans will be able to put up points and I think Tampa will be able to do their part in reaching the total. Seeing now that it’s going to be raining in Tampa, but I’m staying with my gut, I won’t let a little rain scare me off my pick. Pick: Over 53.5 Prediction: NO 34 TB 24
New York Giants @ Washington (+3.5)
It is a slap in the face to the Sanchise to have him as a 3.5 point home under dog to a 4-8 team. How quickly we as a society forget his 2 straight AFC Championship game appearances and his 4-2 playoff record. Odell Beckham Jr is not going to be playing, making me really wanna put my money on the Redskins. There are some ex Jets quarterbacks that I will always bet against, Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, Bryce Petty if he ever plays another snap in the NFL. Then there are some, like Mark who will always hold a special spot in my heart and because of that I am taking the Redskins. Pick: Washington +3.5 Prediction: Wash 20 NYG 17
Carolina @ Cleveland (+1.5)
I have bet on the Panthers the last 3 weeks and they have subsequently lost all 3 games. At this point I have to just continue betting them until I am proven correct. I don’t want to bet them here, and I’m not happy about it but it’s what I have to do. I can’t let them continue to make me look like an idiot, I need to be proven right with a win. Pick: Carolina-1.5 Prediction: Car 30 Cle 24
Colts @ Texans (-4)
Texans winners of 9 straight while the Colts are coming off a bad loss last week to the Jaguars in a game where they put up 0 points. When I’m thinking about where I wanna put my money on Colts games I think back to the game they had against the Jets. This is a team who let the Jets put 40 up on them, imagine how many the Texans will be able to score. I also expect the Colts offense to bounce back which is why I like the Over in this one. Pick: Over 49.5 Prediction: Hou 35 Ind 28
Philadelphia @ Dallas (-3)
The reigning Super Bowl champions need this one if they want to have any chance of going back to the playoffs. I expect this to be a low scoring game and I expect it to be close which is why I like the Eagles in this one. Even if they aren’t able to win I think it will only be a field goal margin of victory for either side. Pick: Phil +3 Prediction: Phil 20 Dal 17
Rams @ Bears (+3)
A soft LA team traveling east to play in the harsh Chicago winters night weather. Add onto that Mitch is back from injury. I think the Bears win Outright here, but I’m still gonna take the points. Pick: Chi +3 Prediction: Chi 24 LAR 20
