Championship Week Winners

Alright so it’s been a while since I have blogged but I’m back for the Championship week to give you some winners. Well get right into the picks.

Rams @ Saints (-3)

In the NFC we have a matchup of the Sean’s. Last time these two teams met it was points galore with the Saints coming out on top 45-35. The total for this game is coming in at 56 which is high for a Championship game. Going back to 2010 the NFC Championship game only surpassed that total twice, however those two times happened in the last 3 years. I would honestly stay away from the total here and put my money on the Rams. Todd Gurley is back and healthy and if Suh plays like he did last week the Rams should be able to stop the Saints running game. Look for the Rams to try and take away Michael Thomas in this one as he was a killer last time these two teams played. If they can take away Thomas non of the other Saints receivers strike any fear in opponents. Pick: Rams +3 Prediction: LAR 34 NO 21

Patriots @ Chiefs (-3)

For the 8th straight year the Patriots will be playing in the AFC Championship. The last team to stop them from making it this far was none other than the Mark Sanchez led Jets. That game is still one of my fondest memories as a Jets fan. Going into New England and beating the Pats to advance to our second straight AFC Championship. Since that point the Jets have not made the playoffs again, are on their 3rd coach and have had 6 different starting quarterbacks. But at least we will always have Shonn Greene putting the Patriots to sleep.

I’ve long said that out of principle I won’t give the Patriots as one of my picks. Having said that I also can’t in good conscience bet on Andy Reid in a playoff game against Bill Belichick. Right now the public loves the over, but I think it will be more low scoring than people expect. Pick: Under 56 Prediction: KC 30 NE 0
