Rich Homie John Week 6

Let’s not make the analysis too complicated here. A handy flow chart for picking a Jets game:

Is Adam Gase still the Head Coach for the NY Jets? If yes, you fade the Jets. If no, dig in to the game.

We have a ‘yes’ this week, so our flow chart will lead us to fading the Jets. Take the Dolphins -8.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and Chan Gailey have reunited in Miami. You may recall that this tandem set passing records for the NY Jets in 2015. DaVante Parker is playing the Brandon Marshall role for the 2020 Dolphins. Who will cover Parker? He is going to get all he can handle today. Fitzmagic must be foaming at the mouth getting ready to play this Jets defense. The Jets equipment staff has made the curious move of filling the LB cleats with Quikrete, so pencil in Mike Gesicki for 5/75/1td as well.

Theoretically before the season, this looked like a winnable game. However, back in August, we did not anticipate it would be Joe Flacco handing off to Frank Gore 18 times today. The Jets as an 8-point underdog in this game is a stinging indictment of both the coaching staff and front office. As is customary while Gase is still on the sideline, I hope the Jets are undressed in this game in all three phases. It’s evident to anyone who watches the game (why would you do that to yourself) that the Jets have quit on Gase. None of the players want to be there. It’s deeply satisfying to watch Gase get his hide handed to him week in and week out. This week, it’s Brian Flores’ turn to get an easy victory. I expect the Dolphins to be up by 10+ at halftime, and cruise on home with an easy two-touchdown victory.

The pick: Lay the points, and watch the Packers / Bucs game.
