Week 6 is here and the dominating storylines are how teams are dealing with positive Covid results. It seems like every day a new team is having to shut down their facility for a positive test. The NFL should come out and get ahead of this and say they are adding a minimum of 2 weeks onto the season and pushing playoffs back, but Roger is just content to wait and react.
Also whoever makes the NFL schedules should be shot, how on earth can you have such a poorly spread out slate. 9 games in the 1 pm slot then only 2 in the 4 pm slot? Why not do 6-5, or 7-4? Especially considering one of the late games is Jets Dolphins, you have to give people some better options for their 4 pm viewing. This happens every year and it doesn’t make sense every year. Alright let’s make some picks.

I know this logic doesn’t make sense but it’s where my brain is at right now. I think that both these offenses are so bad that this game goes over easy. Both teams are good for at a minimum 1 turnover probably 2 when looking at the quarterback matchup. Both teams will get good field position throughout the game because of the 3 and out potential of both teams. Then when they do get into scoring range I think both coaches will be more aggressive on 3rd and 4th down. All that together leads to a 27-24 game that hits the over.

When I saw this line I really wanted to bet the Jags because I hate the Lions and the Lions shouldn’t be favored in an NFL game. Then I remembered there was a reason they were favored, the Jags are really bad. I then took my attention to the over and again I wasn’t loving the total. 53.5 is a lot for these two teams, I was hoping for something closer to 50. So I did what any rational bettor does and teased the Jags and the over 6 points. Moves the odds to +114, and I don’t see any way that this bet can lose.

Has there ever been a 4-1 team in NFL history who has been more disrespected by bookies. I know the Bears aren’t good but they are 4-1, and their only lose was to the Colts. I was shocked to see them as underdogs here because of how well they looked last week. I think the Bears defense has enough speed to keep up with Carolina, and I think their offense can do enough to win. With the spread at 1.5 I will take the point but I think the Bears win outright here.

What are we doing here? How are the Packers just 1 point favorites against Tampa. For this game I think you can just look at the QB matchup and come to an easy conclusion on who to bet on. One QB is coming off a bye and has looked like an MVP candidate, putting up 30+ in every game. The other QB lost his ability to count to 4. One is at high risk for Covid because he likes to tongue kiss his children. The other is low risk because he disowned his entire family. Give me the Packers to cover easily here.
